Description

These Nutella Blondies are irresistibly gooey and fudgy, combining rich chocolate and creamy Nutella swirls for a decadent treat that’s easy to bake and perfect for sharing.

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 250 g Plain Flour
  • 100 g Caster Sugar
  • 100 g Light Brown Sugar

Wet Ingredients

  • 200 g Butter
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla bean paste
  • 150 g Nutella

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 180°C (gas mark 4, 350°F) and line a 9-inch square baking tin with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure even baking.
  2. Melt Butter and Combine Sugars: Place the butter in a large mixing bowl and melt it in the microwave. Allow it to cool for 1 to 2 minutes, then add caster sugar and light brown sugar. Mix thoroughly until the sugars are fully incorporated into the butter.
  3. Add Eggs and Vanilla: Crack the eggs into the bowl and add the vanilla bean paste. Mix until the mixture is uniform and all ingredients are evenly distributed.
  4. Incorporate Flour: Gently fold the plain flour into the wet mixture, combining until a smooth batter forms without overmixing to keep the blondies tender.
  5. Prepare Batter in Tin: Pour the blondie batter into the prepared baking tray and spread it out evenly using a spatula or wooden spoon for consistent thickness.
  6. Add Nutella Swirls: Spoon dollops of Nutella onto the top of the batter. Use a skewer or toothpick to swirl the Nutella into a marbled pattern for an attractive finish and delightful flavor pockets.
  7. Bake: Place the tray into the preheated oven and bake for 12 to 15 minutes to achieve gooey and fudgy blondies, or 17 to 20 minutes for a more cake-like texture. Allow the blondies to cool in the tin before slicing into 16 squares.

Notes

  • For gooier blondies, bake for the shorter time range and allow cooling before cutting.
  • Ensure butter is not too hot when mixing with sugars to avoid melting the sugar and affecting texture.
  • Using parchment paper makes removal and cleanup easier.
  • Vanilla bean paste adds rich flavor; vanilla extract can be substituted if needed.
  • Swirling Nutella creates beautiful marbled look and uneven chocolate pockets.
