Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
- 8 oz linguine or fettuccine
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Garnish
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for serving
- Additional Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Melt Butter and Brown Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the ground beef, season with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, and cook, breaking the meat apart, until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Add Garlic: Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Add Seasonings: Sprinkle in the onion powder, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Stir well to combine with the beef mixture.
- Simmer Pasta in Broth and Cream: Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream. Add the linguine or fettuccine pasta, stirring to ensure the pasta is submerged in the liquid. Bring mixture to a low simmer.
- Cook Pasta Covered: Cover the skillet and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid has absorbed, about 10 minutes. Check periodically to ensure there is enough liquid, adding more chicken broth or water if necessary.
- Finish with Parmesan and Season: Stir in the freshly grated Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is creamy. Taste and adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper if needed.
- Serve: Spoon the pasta onto plates, garnish with chopped fresh parsley and extra Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy your creamy garlic butter beef pasta!
Notes
- For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for the heavy cream or reduce the amount of butter.
- If you prefer a spicier dish, add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the Italian seasoning.
- Make sure to stir the pasta occasionally while cooking to prevent sticking.
- Using freshly grated Parmesan cheese results in a better melt and flavor than pre-grated cheese.
- This dish reheats well and can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
