Description

Tiramisu Balls are a delightful no-bake dessert that captures all the classic flavors of traditional tiramisu in a fun, bite-sized form. Made with crushed Savoiardi lady fingers, creamy mascarpone cheese, brewed coffee, and dusted with cocoa powder, these easy-to-make treats are perfect for parties, snacks, or an elegant dessert.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 12 Savoiardi lady fingers
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • ⅓ cup (3 oz / 85 g) mascarpone cheese, cold
  • 2 to 4 tablespoons strongly brewed coffee, room temperature or cold
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Crush Lady Fingers: Place the Savoiardi lady fingers in a food processor and pulse on and off until very fine crumbs form. Alternatively, place them in a large plastic bag with a small opening and crush using a rolling pin or other kitchen tool until finely crumbled.
  2. Mix Ingredients: In a medium bowl, combine the crushed lady fingers, powdered sugar, mascarpone cheese, and 2 tablespoons of coffee. Mix thoroughly until the mixture sticks together when pinched. If the mixture is too dry, add more coffee gradually until it comes together. If too soft, refrigerate for 30 to 60 minutes to firm up.
  3. Form Balls: Scoop out approximately 1.5 tablespoons of the mixture per portion and roll into balls by hand or using a small cookie scoop for ease and uniformity.
  4. Coat with Cocoa: Place cocoa powder in a small bowl or plate. Roll each tiramisu ball in the cocoa powder to coat evenly. This adds the classic bitter cocoa finish typical of tiramisu.
  5. Serve or Store: Serve immediately or store the tiramisu balls in the refrigerator. They will stay fresh for 3 to 4 days.

Notes

  • Cocoa powder can impart a slightly bitter flavor; for a milder coating, consider using powdered sugar, finely ground chocolate, or crushed nuts as alternatives.
  • To make the coffee stronger, use espresso or brew coffee double strength.
  • Ensure mascarpone cheese is cold for easier mixing and better texture.
  • These tiramisu balls are best enjoyed chilled for the authentic flavor.
  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge to prevent drying out.
