Description

These Slow Cooker BBQ Brisket Sandwiches are the perfect hearty meal! With tender brisket coated in a smoky BBQ rub, slow-cooked in your favorite BBQ sauce, and piled high on soft burger buns, they’re ideal for any BBQ lover.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups your favorite BBQ sauce
  • 2 ½ lbs beef brisket
  • 6 burger buns
  • For the Smokey BBQ Spice Rub: 1 tablespoon light brown sugar, 1 tablespoon smoked paprika, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon onion powder, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon pepper
  • For Toppings: Pickles, Onions, Coleslaw, Extra BBQ sauce

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Slow Cooker: Pour 1 cup of BBQ sauce into the bottom of your slow cooker.
  2. Season the Brisket: In a small bowl, mix together the ingredients for the Smokey BBQ Spice Rub. Rub the spice mixture evenly all over the brisket.
  3. Cook the Brisket: Place the seasoned brisket into the slow cooker and cover it with the remaining BBQ sauce. Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours, or until the brisket is tender and easy to shred.
  4. Rest and Shred: Once cooked, remove the brisket from the slow cooker and let it rest for 10 minutes. After resting, shred the meat with forks or slice it thinly.
  5. Assemble the Sandwiches: Serve the shredded brisket on the burger buns with your choice of toppings such as pickles, onions, slaw, and additional BBQ sauce.

Notes

  • Toppings: Customize the sandwiches with your favorite toppings like pickles, crunchy slaw, or even cheese for added flavor.
  • Leftovers: Leftover brisket can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days, making it perfect for meal prep or future sandwiches.
