Ingredients

  • 2 ½ pounds brisket
  • 1 ½ cups BBQ sauce
  • 12 tortillas (flour or corn)
  • Your favorite taco toppings: cilantro, Monterey Jack cheese, diced red onion, etc.
  • For the Smokey BBQ Spice Rub:
  • 1 tablespoon light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Make the Smokey BBQ Spice Rub:
  2. In a small bowl, combine all ingredients for the Smokey BBQ Spice Rub. Mix well.
  3. Rub the seasoning all over the brisket.
  4. Slow Cook the Brisket:
  5. Add the seasoned brisket to the slow cooker.
  6. Pour 1 cup of BBQ sauce over the brisket.
  7. Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours, or until the brisket is tender and fully cooked.
  8. Prepare the Brisket:
  9. Remove the brisket from the slow cooker and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  10. After resting, shred the meat with a fork or slice it thinly.
  11. Assemble the Tacos:
  12. Warm the tortillas and fill them with the cooked brisket.
  13. Add additional BBQ sauce and your favorite taco toppings, such as cilantro, Monterey Jack cheese, and diced red onion.
