This Salmon Fillet Topped with Shrimp and Crab is an elegant and flavorful seafood dish, perfect for a special dinner or any occasion. The succulent salmon is enhanced by a rich, buttery shrimp and crab topping.
Ingredients
- For the Salmon:
- 4 salmon fillets
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- For the Shrimp and Crab Topping:
- ½ lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup crab meat (lump or imitation)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- For Garnish:
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
- Lemon wedges (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Salmon: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add the salmon fillets, skin-side down, and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until the skin is crispy. Flip the fillets and transfer the skillet to the preheated oven. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the salmon reaches your desired level of doneness.
- Make the Shrimp and Crab Topping: While the salmon is baking, melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant. Add the shrimp to the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes, until pink and opaque. Add the crab meat, lemon juice, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir gently to combine and cook for an additional 2 minutes, just until heated through.
- Assemble the Dish: Once the salmon fillets are done, remove them from the oven. Spoon the shrimp and crab mixture generously over each salmon fillet.
- Garnish and Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side for added freshness and flavor.
Notes
- For extra richness, you can add a splash of broth to the shrimp and crab mixture while cooking.
- Pair with your favorite vegetables or a side of rice for a complete meal.
