Description

Oven Baked Boneless Beef Ribs are juicy, fork-tender country-style ribs seasoned with a bold homemade spice rub and finished with your favorite BBQ sauce. A comforting, hands-off dinner that’s packed with smoky, savory flavor.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 4 pounds boneless country-style ribs
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, smoked paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, onion powder, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and cumin until well combined.
  3. Place the ribs in a 9×13-inch baking dish and sprinkle the seasoning mixture evenly over both sides of the ribs.
  4. Pour 3 tablespoons of water into the bottom of the dish. Cover tightly with foil and bake for 2 1/2 hours.
  5. Remove the foil and brush the ribs with BBQ sauce. Return to the oven and bake uncovered for an additional 30 minutes, or until fork-tender.
  6. If desired, turn the broiler on high for the last 4–5 minutes to caramelize the BBQ sauce on top. Keep a close eye to avoid burning.
  7. Remove from the oven and serve warm with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • Make sure the ribs are arranged in a single layer for even cooking.
  • Use your favorite store-bought or homemade BBQ sauce for best flavor.
  • The broiling step adds a caramelized finish, but is optional.
  • For extra tender ribs, allow them to rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.
