Description
Delicious and easy-to-make oatmeal crepes that are light, nutritious, and perfect for breakfast or a snack. Made with simple ingredients like oat flour, eggs, and milk, these crepes offer a gluten-free alternative and can be served with sweet or savory toppings.
Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- 1 cup oatmeal (blended into flour or use store-bought oat flour)
- Pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar (optional)
Wet Ingredients
- 2 medium eggs
- 1¼ cups water or milk
Instructions
- Prepare Oat Flour: Place the oats into a powerful blender and blend until they form a fine flour. Alternatively, you can use pre-packaged oat flour.
- Mix Ingredients: Add the salt, optional sugar, eggs, and water or milk to the oat flour in the blender. Blend everything until the batter is smooth and free of lumps.
- Heat Pan: Place a small non-stick pan over low-medium heat and allow it to heat up properly for even cooking.
- Cook Crepes: Pour about 1/4 cup of batter into the hot pan, immediately spreading it evenly to create a thin layer. Cook the crepe for 1 minute, then flip it carefully and cook for another 30 seconds until light golden.
- Repeat Process: Repeat cooking with the remaining batter, making sure the pan is hot each time for perfect crepes.
- Serve: Serve the crepes warm with your choice of toppings such as cream cheese, yogurt, nut butter, jam, or fresh fruit.
Notes
- Using milk instead of water will make the crepes richer and more tender.
- For a gluten-free version, ensure the oats are certified gluten-free.
- These crepes can be filled with either sweet or savory fillings.
- Make sure the batter is smooth to prevent tearing during cooking.
- Cook on low-medium heat to prevent burning and achieve even cooking.
