Description

A delicious twist on the classic sloppy joe, served on crispy garlic bread and topped with provolone cheese. The savory beef mixture is bursting with flavor from ranch seasoning, au jus gravy, and peperoncinis.

Ingredients

  • 1 (8-count) pack of garlic bread Texas toast
  • 1 ½ pounds ground beef
  • Seasonings of your choice (e.g., salt, pepper, garlic powder)
  • ¾ cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons ranch seasoning
  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix
  • ½ cup sliced peperoncinis
  • ¼ cup peperoncini juice
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • Freshly cracked pepper (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and bake the garlic bread Texas toast according to the package instructions.
  2. While the bread is baking, cook the ground beef in a skillet. Drain the fat and season with your preferred spices.
  3. Add the beef broth, ranch seasoning, au jus gravy mix, sliced peperoncinis, and the peperoncini juice to the meat. Stir well and let it simmer for 5 minutes to allow the sauce to thicken.
  4. Once the garlic bread is done, remove it from the oven and use a spoon to flatten out the center of each slice.
  5. Spoon the beef mixture into the center of each garlic toast. Top each one with a slice of provolone cheese and sprinkle with freshly cracked pepper.
  6. Place the filled garlic bread back into the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra heat, consider adding some chopped jalapeños or red pepper flakes to the beef mixture.
  • Feel free to substitute the provolone cheese with another cheese of your choice like mozzarella or cheddar.
  • If you prefer a milder flavor, you can reduce the amount of peperoncini juice or use fewer sliced peperoncinis.
