Description

Matcha White Hot Chocolate is a delightful, cozy winter beverage that combines the creamy sweetness of white chocolate with the unique, earthy flavor of high-quality matcha. Easy to prepare in just 20 minutes, this grown-up treat is perfect for warming up on chilly days.

Ingredients

White Chocolate Mixture

  • ¼ cup white chocolate chips
  • 2 cups unsweetened almond milk

Matcha Mixture

  • 2 teaspoons AIYA cooking grade matcha
  • 1 cup hot water

Instructions

  1. Melt White Chocolate: In a small saucepan, combine the white chocolate chips with ½ cup of the unsweetened almond milk. Heat gently over low-medium heat, stirring constantly until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
  2. Add Remaining Almond Milk: Pour in the remaining 1½ cups of almond milk into the melted chocolate mixture, stirring well. Set this mixture aside on low heat or keep warm.
  3. Prepare Matcha: Sift the 2 teaspoons of AIYA cooking grade matcha into 1 cup of hot water to avoid lumps. Using a bamboo whisk or a small regular whisk, vigorously whisk the matcha until it becomes smooth and frothy.
  4. Combine and Serve: Stir the frothy matcha into the white chocolate and almond milk mixture until fully blended. Pour the hot chocolate evenly into 2 mugs and serve immediately for a warm, comforting drink.

Notes

  • Use high-quality, cooking-grade matcha for the best flavor and vibrant green color.
  • For a creamier texture, substitute almond milk with oat milk or regular dairy milk if preferred.
  • Adjust sweetness by adding a teaspoon of sweetener like honey or maple syrup if desired.
  • Whisking matcha properly ensures no clumps and a smooth, frothy finish.
  • This recipe can be easily doubled or halved depending on serving needs.
