Description

This Italian Beef Pasta Skillet is a quick, one-pan meal combining lean ground beef, macaroni pasta, and a rich tomato sauce topped with melted mozzarella cheese. Perfect for an easy weeknight dinner, it’s packed with hearty flavors and ready in just 25 minutes.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1/2 medium onion, diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 15 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 cup uncooked macaroni noodles
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • 1 1/2 cups beef broth
  • 1/4 cup Marinara Sauce Mix
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Brown the Beef and Vegetables: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef along with the diced onion and red bell pepper until the beef is browned and the vegetables are softened. Drain any excess fat from the skillet and return it to the stovetop.
  2. Add Sauce and Pasta Ingredients: Stir in the tomato sauce, uncooked macaroni noodles, tomato paste, garlic salt, beef broth, and Marinara Sauce Mix. Mix everything well to combine all ingredients evenly.
  3. Simmer Until Pasta is Tender: Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer. Cover the skillet and cook for about 15 minutes, or until the pasta is tender and has absorbed most of the liquid.
  4. Add Cheese and Melt: After stirring the mixture, sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the top. Cover the skillet again and allow the cheese to melt completely, which should take a few minutes.
  5. Serve and Enjoy: Once the cheese is melted and bubbly, remove from heat and serve the Italian Beef Pasta Skillet hot for a delicious, comforting meal.

Notes

  • Use lean ground beef to reduce excess fat and calories.
  • Keep an eye on the pasta as it simmers to avoid overcooking or sticking.
  • You can substitute mozzarella cheese with provolone or cheddar for variation.
  • Adding a sprinkle of fresh basil or parsley before serving enhances the flavor and presentation.
  • For a spicier kick, consider adding red pepper flakes when sautéing the vegetables.
