Ingredients
- 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter, divided
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon seasoned rice vinegar
- ⅓ cup honey
- Kosher salt to taste
- Freshly cracked black pepper to taste
- Green onions, thinly sliced
Instructions
- Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large frying pan over medium to medium-high heat.
- Slice the chicken breasts lengthwise into four thinner pieces. Season with salt and pepper, then coat each piece evenly with flour.
- Cook the chicken for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, melt the remaining butter over medium-low heat. Add the sliced garlic and cook for 30-60 seconds, or until fragrant.
- Add soy sauce and vinegar, scraping the pan to release any browned bits. Stir in honey, pepper, and salt. Let the sauce simmer for 4-5 minutes, until it thickens.
- Return the chicken to the pan and simmer in the sauce for 1 minute, until the chicken is warm and coated in the sauce.
- Serve the chicken garnished with thinly sliced green onions.
Notes
- Serve the chicken with steamed rice, roasted veggies, or a simple salad for a complete meal.
- If you like a bit of heat, you can add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
- For a richer flavor, try using dark soy sauce in place of regular soy sauce.
