Description

This Honey Garlic Chicken Breast recipe combines the sweetness of honey with the savory depth of garlic and soy sauce for a quick and flavorful weeknight dinner. Crispy, golden chicken breasts are simmered in a rich honey garlic sauce that’s perfect for serving over rice, veggies, or simply on its own. It’s an easy, delicious meal that your family will love!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon seasoned rice vinegar
  • ⅓ cup honey
  • Kosher salt to taste
  • Freshly cracked black pepper to taste
  • Green onions, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large frying pan over medium to medium-high heat.
  2. Slice the chicken breasts lengthwise into four thinner pieces. Season with salt and pepper, then coat each piece evenly with flour.
  3. Cook the chicken for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, melt the remaining butter over medium-low heat. Add the sliced garlic and cook for 30-60 seconds, or until fragrant.
  5. Add soy sauce and vinegar, scraping the pan to release any browned bits. Stir in honey, pepper, and salt. Let the sauce simmer for 4-5 minutes, until it thickens.
  6. Return the chicken to the pan and simmer in the sauce for 1 minute, until the chicken is warm and coated in the sauce.
  7. Serve the chicken garnished with thinly sliced green onions.

Notes

  • Serve the chicken with steamed rice, roasted veggies, or a simple salad for a complete meal.
  • If you like a bit of heat, you can add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
  • For a richer flavor, try using dark soy sauce in place of regular soy sauce.
