Description
Tender, flavorful mahi mahi fillets grilled to perfection, making for a quick and delicious weeknight meal!
Ingredients
- Fish:
- 1½ pounds mahi mahi fillets (about 4 fillets)
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 2 teaspoons Old Bay seasoning
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Garnish:
- Mango salsa
- Lime wedges
Instructions
- Preheat Grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat and ensure the grates are nice and hot.
- Prepare Fish: Pat mahi mahi fillets dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. If using frozen fillets, thaw them first and gently press them to remove excess water with paper towels.
- Season the Fish: In a small mixing bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and olive oil. Whisk until well combined. Using gloved hands, brush the seasoning mixture over the fillets, ensuring an even coating.
- Grill the Mahi Mahi: Place the seasoned fillets on the hot grill. Cook for 6 minutes, then carefully flip the fish with a fish spatula. Cook for an additional 6 minutes on the other side. Tip: For perfect grill marks, place a cast-iron hamburger press on top of the fillets and apply light pressure to avoid squeezing out the juices.
- Serve: Remove the mahi mahi fillets from the grill. Serve with mango salsa and lime wedges for a fresh and vibrant finish.
Notes
- Store cooked mahi mahi in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
- Using a press will help give you those desirable grill marks while keeping the fish juicy.
