Ingredients

  • 4 (6-8 ounce) Filet Mignon Steaks
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (optional)
  • 2 tbsp kosher salt
  • 2 tbsp fresh ground pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your gas grill to 450°F or prepare a charcoal grill.
  2. Season the filet mignon steaks generously with kosher salt and fresh ground pepper on both sides.
  3. Place the steaks on the grill and close the lid. Grill for 4-5 minutes until a crust has formed and golden brown.
  4. Flip the steaks and close the lid. Continue grilling for another 4-5 minutes, or until the desired doneness is reached (125°F for medium-rare).
  5. Transfer the steaks to a platter and cover with foil.
  6. Allow the steaks to rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • If desired, you can brush the steaks with olive oil before grilling to enhance the crust.
  • For different doneness, adjust the grilling time: 130°F for medium, 135°F for medium-well.
  • Resting the steaks after grilling ensures they remain juicy and tender.
