Description

Delicious and easy-to-make Graham Cookie Bars featuring a rich blend of graham cracker crumbs, semi-sweet chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, and chopped nuts bound together with sweetened condensed milk. These bars are perfectly baked to a golden finish, making a delightful treat for any occasion.

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • Pinch of salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk (recommend: Eagle Brand)

Optional

  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it’s ready for baking the bars evenly.
  2. Prepare Pan: Heavily butter an 8 or 9-inch square pan to prevent sticking and set it aside for later use.
  3. Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, semi-sweet chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, chopped nuts, and a pinch of salt. Stir thoroughly to distribute all components evenly.
  4. Add Condensed Milk: Pour in the sweetened condensed milk and mix until the entire mixture is cohesively combined, ensuring every bit is moistened.
  5. Press Mixture: Transfer the mixture into the prepared buttered pan and press it down firmly to create an even layer.
  6. Bake: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes until the edges begin to turn golden and the bars set.
  7. Cool: Remove the pan from the oven and allow the bars to cool on a wire rack for 45 minutes right in the pan to firm up properly.
  8. Slice and Serve: Cut the cooled bars into 1 1/2-inch squares. Optionally, dust the tops with powdered sugar before serving for an extra touch of sweetness and presentation.

Notes

  • Use an 8 or 9-inch square pan to get the best thickness and baking results.
  • Heavily buttering the pan ensures easy removal of bars after baking.
  • Pressing the mixture firmly into the pan helps the bars hold together once baked.
  • Allow bars to cool completely before cutting to avoid crumbling.
  • Optional dusting of powdered sugar adds a pretty finishing touch and extra sweetness.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or refrigerate for longer freshness.
