Ingredients
- Green Beans:
- 1 pound fresh green beans (rinsed, ends trimmed)
- ½ teaspoon salt
- Sautéing:
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 6 cloves garlic (minced)
- Finish and Garnish:
- 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Boil the Green Beans: Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add green beans and ½ teaspoon salt. Cook on medium-low heat for 5 minutes, then drain the beans.
- Sauté the Garlic and Green Beans: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cooked green beans to the skillet. Sauté for about 2 minutes, stirring to combine.
- Finish and Serve: Remove from heat and add freshly squeezed lemon juice. Stir in grated Parmesan cheese. Taste and add more salt, if needed.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet or microwave.
- Optional Additions: Mince onion or shallots and sauté with garlic for extra flavor. Add 2 tablespoons of lemon zest for a citrusy kick. For heat, try crushed red pepper flakes, cayenne, or chili powder.
- Cheese variations: Try Asiago or Pecorino Romano instead of Parmesan.
