Ingredients

Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 11×7-inch (2-quart) glass baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
- Prepare the Brownie Base: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the brownie mix, egg, melted butter, and milk, stirring until smooth. Spread the batter into the prepared baking dish.
- Bake the Brownies: Bake at 350°F for 25-28 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Remove from the oven and cool completely to room temperature.
- Make the French Silk Layer: In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and vanilla extract with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Add the powdered sugar and mix until well combined.
- Melt the Chocolate: In a small microwave-safe bowl, heat the semi-sweet chocolate and cubed butter in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each interval until fully melted.
- Combine the Chocolate with Cream Cheese Mixture: Add the melted chocolate and butter mixture to the cream cheese mixture and stir until combined. Gently fold in the Cool Whip until the mixture is smooth and fluffy.
- Assemble the Brownies: Spread the French silk layer over the cooled brownies. Then, spread the remaining 8 ounces of Cool Whip on top.
