Place the tart shell in the freezer to chill for 15 minutes, which will help it set and create a firm base for the filling.
- Prepare the Chocolate Filling: Place the dark chocolate in a large heat-safe bowl. Heat the whipping cream in a microwave-safe bowl on high power for 1½ to 2 minutes until it is steaming hot and bubbles appear around the edges. Immediately pour the hot cream over the chocolate. Cover the bowl with a baking sheet or large plate to trap heat and allow the chocolate to melt gently for 5 minutes.
- Combine and Chill: After 5 minutes, remove the cover and add the softened butter to the chocolate-cream mixture. Whisk thoroughly until completely smooth and shiny. If the chocolate is not fully melted, microwave the mixture on 50% power in 30-second increments, stirring frequently until perfectly smooth. Pour the ganache into the chilled tart shell. Refrigerate the tart for at least 4 hours, or until fully set before serving.
