Description

This Creamy Mayo Ramen recipe delivers a rich and flavorful bowl of ramen in just 10 minutes. Combining instant ramen noodles with a creamy mayonnaise and egg yolk sauce, it offers a unique twist on traditional ramen, enhanced with garlic and optional garnishes like soft boiled egg, green onions, and chili oil.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 package of instant ramen
  • 3 cups of water or broth
  • 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise
  • 1 clove of garlic, crushed or grated
  • 1 large egg yolk

Optional Garnishes

  • Soft boiled egg
  • Green onions, thinly sliced
  • Chili oil

Instructions

  1. Boil the liquid: Bring 3 cups of water or broth to a boil in a small saucepan to prepare the base for the ramen noodles.
  2. Prepare the creamy sauce: While waiting for the water to boil, whisk together 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise, the crushed or grated garlic clove, and the large egg yolk in a large soup bowl; set this aside for later to create the creamy sauce.
  3. Cook the noodles: Once the water reaches a boil, add the ramen noodles along with the seasoning packet if desired. Boil the noodles for 2 minutes until just tender, then remove the saucepan from heat to avoid overcooking.
  4. Combine sauce and broth: Ladle about 1 cup of the hot ramen broth into the bowl containing the mayo mixture. Whisk thoroughly to combine and create a smooth, creamy sauce.
  5. Finish the ramen: Add the remaining noodles and broth into the bowl with the creamy mixture, mixing gently to combine evenly.
  6. Garnish and serve: Optionally, top your creamy mayo ramen with a soft boiled egg, thinly sliced green onions, and a drizzle of chili oil for added flavor and presentation.

Notes

  • You can use broth instead of water for a richer flavor.
  • Adjust the amount of chili oil based on your heat preference.
  • Soft boiled egg adds extra creaminess and protein but can be omitted.
  • Use fresh garlic to maximize flavor in the creamy sauce.
  • Cook noodles just until tender to avoid mushy texture.
