Description
A rich and decadent dessert that’s quick to make and full of chocolatey goodness. With minimal effort, this dump cake comes together and is perfect when served warm with ice cream.
Ingredients
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted (but not hot)
- 1 box chocolate cake mix
- 5.1 ounces instant chocolate pudding mix
- 2 ½ cups whole milk
- 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Spray a 9×13-inch casserole dish with nonstick spray.
- Evenly sprinkle the chocolate cake mix across the bottom of the dish.
- Sprinkle the instant chocolate pudding mix over the cake mix.
- In a separate bowl, combine the milk and melted butter. Make sure the butter isn’t too hot to prevent curdling the milk.
- Pour the milk and butter mixture over the cake and pudding layers.
- Use a whisk to mix slightly—don’t fully stir, just enough to combine and ensure even baking.
- Sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the top.
- Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly.
- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for the ultimate dessert experience!
Notes
- If you want to add a little more texture, try mixing in some chopped nuts like walnuts or pecans with the chocolate chips.
- For an extra rich flavor, use whole milk chocolate chips or a mix of milk and dark chocolate chips.
- For a fun twist, serve the dump cake with whipped cream or caramel sauce instead of ice cream.
