Description

These Cheesy Garlic Chicken Wraps offer a quick and flavorful meal with tender chicken mixed with garlic, light mayo, Greek yogurt, and hot sauce, all wrapped in a crispy tortilla with melted cheddar cheese and green onions. Ready in just 22 minutes, they’re perfect for a satisfying lunch or dinner.

Ingredients

Wraps and Filling

  • 2 large tortillas (regular or low-carb/high-protein)
  • 7 oz cooked chicken, chopped (about 200 grams, rotisserie chicken works great)
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced or grated (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons light mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon light Greek yogurt (or plain yogurt)
  • 2 teaspoons hot sauce (such as Frank’s)
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 3 oz grated cheese (about 90 grams, cheddar blend recommended)
  • 1 green onion, chopped

For Cooking

  • Olive oil spray

Instructions

  1. Mix chicken filling: In a medium bowl, combine the chopped cooked chicken, minced garlic, light mayonnaise, light Greek yogurt, hot sauce, and salt. Mix thoroughly until evenly blended.
  2. Lay out wrap: Place one tortilla flat on a clean surface. On the lower third of the tortilla, sprinkle about 2 tablespoons of grated cheese. Then, add approximately ⅔ cup of the prepared chicken mixture on top of the cheese. Add another tablespoon of cheese and sprinkle with chopped green onion for extra flavor.
  3. Fold wrap: Fold in the sides of the tortilla gently, then roll it up tightly starting from the bottom to secure all the filling inside.
  4. Prepare pan: Heat a non-stick skillet or pan over medium-high heat. Lightly spray the surface with olive oil to prevent sticking and promote browning.
  5. Cook wraps: Place the rolled wraps seam-side down in the hot pan. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes on each side, pressing slightly, until the tortilla is crispy and golden brown. Cover the pan with a lid during cooking to ensure the wraps heat through evenly.
  6. Slice and serve: Once cooked, remove the wraps from the pan and slice them in half diagonally. Serve immediately while warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Using a rotisserie chicken saves time and adds flavor.
  • Adjust garlic and hot sauce quantities to match your heat preference.
  • For a lower-carb option, choose low-carb or high-protein tortillas.
  • You can substitute cheddar cheese with your favorite cheese blend.
  • Cooking covered helps melt the cheese inside and warms the filling thoroughly.
  • Leftover wraps can be refrigerated and reheated in a skillet or air fryer for crispiness.
