Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, browned
- 5 cups miniature marshmallows
- 4 cups Kellogg’s Rice Krispies cereal
- 2 cups Post Fruity Pebbles cereal
- 2/3 cup white chocolate chips (Hershey’s)
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Instructions
- Prepare the baking dish: Spray a 13×9-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Brown the butter: In a saucepan, heat butter over medium heat, stirring constantly for 5-8 minutes until golden brown with brown specks. Remove from heat immediately.
- Melt the marshmallows: Add marshmallows to the browned butter and stir until fully melted and smooth.
- Mix the Rice Krispies: In a large bowl, combine Rice Krispies with 2/3 of the marshmallow mixture. Stir until well-coated, then pour into the prepared dish. Flatten using wax paper or a spatula.
- Add the Fruity Pebbles: If needed, reheat the remaining marshmallow mixture to loosen it up. Stir in Fruity Pebbles and spread evenly over the Rice Krispies layer. Flatten again.
- Drizzle with white chocolate: Melt white chocolate chips in the microwave, adding vegetable oil for a smooth consistency. Drizzle over the top of the Rice Krispies treats.
- Serve: Allow treats to cool slightly before slicing into 20 bars. Serve and enjoy!
Notes
- Optional Tip for Variation: Swap the white chocolate for milk chocolate for a richer flavor. If using candy melts, reduce the vegetable oil amount.
- Variations: Use different cereals like Cocoa Pebbles, Lucky Charms, or Cinnamon Toast Crunch for a new twist. Add sprinkles to make them more festive, or use milk or dark chocolate for a different taste. You can also add chopped walnuts, pecans, or almonds for extra crunch.
- Storage: Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. Freeze wrapped individually or in layers for up to 3 months. Reheat individual bars for 10-15 seconds in the microwave to soften.
