Description

These Bang Bang Chicken Skewers are the perfect combination of crispy, juicy chicken and a spicy-sweet homemade bang bang sauce. Made in the air fryer for a quick and easy meal, these skewers are perfect as an appetizer or main course, delivering a flavorful bite every time!

Ingredients

  • Wooden skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes
  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 ¼ cups mayonnaise
  • ⅔ cup Thai sweet chili sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Sriracha (or more to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons honey

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the cubed chicken with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat evenly.
  2. Thread 4–5 chicken cubes onto each skewer.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, and honey to make the bang bang sauce.
  4. Set aside half of the sauce for later and use the remaining sauce to brush evenly over the chicken skewers.
  5. Place the skewers in the air fryer basket in a single layer (work in batches if necessary).
  6. Air fry at 400°F for 11–12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  7. Once cooked, transfer the skewers to a plate and drizzle or brush with the reserved bang bang sauce. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a milder sauce, reduce the amount of Sriracha or omit it entirely.
  • You can use wooden or metal skewers, but ensure the wooden ones are soaked beforehand to avoid burning in the air fryer.
  • Serve these skewers with a side of rice, veggies, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
