Description

These delicious Banana Oatmeal Bars are made with simple pantry staples and are perfect for a healthy breakfast or a satisfying snack. Packed with mashed bananas, rolled oats, and a touch of sweetness from maple syrup and chocolate chips, these bars are wholesome, filling, and easy to make.

Ingredients

Banana Oatmeal Bars Ingredients

  • 1½ cups mashed bananas (approx. 3 bananas)
  • ½ cup nut butter
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Heat the oven to 350°F and line a 9×9 inch baking pan with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, nut butter, rolled oats, cinnamon, vanilla extract, maple syrup, chocolate chips, and salt. Stir thoroughly until the mixture is well blended.
  3. Prepare the Pan: Transfer the mixture into the lined baking pan. Press it down firmly and evenly to form a flat layer. Optionally, sprinkle additional chocolate chips on top for extra flavor and texture.
  4. Bake the Bars: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until the edges turn golden and the bars look set.
  5. Cool and Serve: Remove from oven and allow the bars to cool completely in the pan. Once cooled, cut into 16 bars and enjoy.

Notes

  • You can substitute any nut butter of your choice, such as almond or peanut butter.
  • For a vegan option, ensure the chocolate chips are dairy-free.
  • Store bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  • Adding chopped nuts or dried fruits can enhance texture and flavor.
