Description
This Avocado Chocolate Fruit Dip is a rich, creamy, and healthy dessert made with ripe avocados, cocoa powder, maple syrup, and vanilla. Naturally vegan and paleo-friendly, it’s perfect for dipping fruit, cookies, pretzels, and more.
Ingredients
- 2 large ripe avocados, pitted and peeled
- 1/3 cup to 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
- 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (or cacao powder)
- 1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of sea salt
- 2 tablespoons non-dairy milk, to thin as needed
- For Dipping:
- Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, sliced bananas
- Pretzels
- Graham crackers
- Crunchy cookies
Instructions
- In a small food processor or blender, combine the avocados, maple syrup, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and a pinch of sea salt.
- Blend until completely smooth, scraping down the sides as needed.
- If a thinner consistency is desired, add non-dairy milk 1 tablespoon at a time until desired texture is reached (about 2 tablespoons total).
- Transfer the chocolate dip to a serving bowl.
- Serve with fresh fruits, pretzels, graham crackers, crunchy cookies, or your favorite dippers. Enjoy!
Notes
- Adjust sweetness to taste by starting with 1/3 cup maple syrup and increasing if needed.
- Best served fresh, but can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days with plastic wrap pressed directly on the surface to prevent browning.
- Use cacao powder for a more intense chocolate flavor and added antioxidants.
