Description

Ingredients
- For the Apple Filling:
- 8 large Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced
- ½ cup sugar (to taste)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- For the Topping:
- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ¾ teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- ⅔ cup melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Prepare Apples: Peel and slice the apples into ¼-inch thick slices.
- Make Apple Filling: In a large mixing bowl, toss the apples with ½ cup sugar and cinnamon. Taste and add more sugar if the apples are very tart.
- Assemble: Pour the apple mixture into a 9×13 baking dish and set aside.
- Make Topping: In a medium mixing bowl, stir together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and eggs until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Top Apples: Pour the crumb mixture evenly over the apples.
- Add Butter: Drizzle the melted butter over the top of the crumb mixture.
- Bake: Bake for 45-60 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown.
- Cool: Cool for 10 minutes before serving.
- Serve: Serve warm with vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of caramel sauce for an extra treat!

- If you prefer a sweeter apple filling, add more sugar to taste.
