Description

Crispy, tender chicken wings with a sweet and spicy hot honey glaze made in the air fryer. Perfect for a quick and delicious meal or appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken wing sections (thawed, see notes)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce (adjust according to your preferred spice level)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • Chopped green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep the Wings: Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. In a small bowl, combine olive oil, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Coat the wings evenly with the olive oil mixture.
  2. Cook the Wings: Place the wings in the air fryer basket in a single layer, working in batches to avoid overcrowding. Air fry for 16 minutes, flipping halfway through, or until the wings are golden brown and cooked through.
  3. Make the Sauce: While the wings are cooking, combine honey, hot sauce, minced garlic, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, and chili powder in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for 3-5 minutes until the mixture is heated through. Remove from heat and let the sauce thicken. Adjust hot sauce amount based on your spice preference.
  4. Coat the Wings: Transfer the cooked wings to a large bowl. Pour the hot honey glaze over the wings and toss gently to coat them evenly.
  5. Serve: Arrange the glazed wings on a platter and garnish with chopped green onions (if desired). Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a less spicy version, reduce the amount of hot sauce in the glaze.
  • These wings are perfect with a side of ranch or blue cheese dipping sauce!
