Ingredients
- 1 slice white bread
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Sesame seeds for topping
- Syrup for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Place a slice of white bread directly into your air fryer basket—no need to pre-toast.
- Use the back of a spoon to gently press down the center of the bread, creating a well to hold the egg.
- Drizzle or brush a bit of olive oil over the surface of the bread, especially around the edges, to help it crisp up.
- Carefully crack the egg into the well in the center of the bread. Go slowly to avoid breaking the yolk.
- Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded mozzarella cheese over the egg and bread. Let some cheese fall on the edges for extra flavor.
- Air fry at 175°C (350°F) for about 7 minutes. Start checking at the 5-minute mark. For a runny yolk, pull it at 7 minutes. For a more set yolk, let it go for up to 10 minutes.
- Once done, sprinkle sesame seeds and a pinch of salt for crunch and flavor. Optionally drizzle with maple syrup or honey for a sweet contrast.
